A licence key, and the right to use the plugin for good: licences are perpetual, not a subscription. Download the plugin from its page (the same installer as the free trial) and enter the key to unlock it.

It’s emailed to you by Dodo Payments the moment your payment goes through, to the address you used at checkout. It’s also shown on the page you land on after checkout. If it hasn’t arrived within a few minutes, check your spam folder.

Sign in to the Dodo Payments customer portal with the email you bought with. It sends you a sign-in link (no password), and your licence keys, receipts and invoices are all there.

If you no longer have access to that email, write to support@oa-labs.com with your order details and we’ll find it.

Each plugin’s page says how many activations a licence includes. Nitrate allows three. Using it on a new computer? Deactivate it on the old one first, which frees the activation. If the old computer is gone, email us and we’ll reset it.

No. Updates are free, for paid plugins and free ones alike: every new version of a plugin you own is yours. What changed in each one is in the changelog.

Yes, within 7 days of purchase. Email support@oa-labs.com with the email you bought with. The money goes back to your original payment method, and the licence key stops working. Try the free trial first, though: it’s the best way to know. The full terms are in the refund policy.

Checkout is handled by Dodo Payments, who are the merchant of record: they process the payment, charge any sales tax or VAT, and issue your receipt. See terms and refunds.

Open the downloaded .pkg and follow the installer. It places the AU and VST3 into the standard plugin folders. Restart your DAW, or trigger a plugin rescan, so it picks up the new formats.

Run the downloaded .exe installer. It places the VST3 into the standard VST3 folder, then restart your DAW or rescan.

Extract the archive and run ./install.sh. It installs for your user, no root needed. See how the Linux build is tested.

Rescan plugins in your DAW, and confirm it is looking in the standard AU / VST3 folders.

Right-click the .pkg and choose Open, or allow it under System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Check the track is armed and the plugin is not bypassed, then try the Init preset as a clean starting point.

So I can tell you when there’s a new version. OA Labs is a one-person operation and the mailing list is how updates reach people. I don’t sell it, share it, or send anything else.

VST3 and AU on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel), VST3 on Windows, and a community-tested VST3 build for Linux. There is a standalone app too.

macOS 10.13 or later, Windows 10 or later (64-bit), or Linux for the community build, and a host that loads AU or VST3 plugins. It is about 18 MB on Mac and 5 MB on Windows.

Not yet — AAX isn’t currently supported. There’s a waitlist if you’d like to be told when that changes.

It’s a community build: tested by Linux users rather than by me. So far it’s been verified on Arch and Linux Mint 22.3, running X11 and PipeWire, in Ardour, Renoise and Carla.

It will stay community tested. I don’t test on Linux myself, so I’ll look into anything you report and ship fixes in updates, but I can’t always verify those fixes on Linux before they go out. Found a problem, or got it running on another setup? Email support@oa-labs.com with your distro and host.
