New controls (stereo width, filter slope, sub routing, pitch-bend range), new displays (live waveforms, groove, draggable envelopes), real per-voice depth on chords and unison, and a full interface pass.

New controls

• STEREO — a real width control in the output section. The voice path was previously mono until the final pan; the two channels now genuinely differ, and they drift apart rather than sitting at a fixed detune, so the width never hollows out in mono.
• Filter slope — 12 or 24 dB/oct. The steeper setting adds a second stage while keeping a single resonant peak, so it tightens without turning harsh.
• Sub routing — PRE or POST filter. Run the sub through the filter so cutoff, morph, resonance, drive and sag all act on the low end — or keep it clean underneath, as before.
• Pitch-bend range — up and down set independently (1, 2, 5, 7, 12, 24 semitones), with a link toggle.
• Arp HOLD — the arp keeps running after you release the keys.
• Much longer envelopes — attack to 10 s, release to 15 s. Slow swells and long tails without fighting the ceiling.
• Five full octaves on the keyboard (C0–B4).

New displays

• Live waveform displays on both oscillators, with an amber overlay when the shaper is actually changing the wave.
• Groove display showing how far each step is pushed or pulled.
• Draggable envelope editors for amp and filter, with click-to-type values.

Sound

• Chords and unison have real depth — drift, jitter, chaos and noise now differ per voice, so a chord sounds like several instruments rather than one sound copied.
• The instrument always breathes — movement no longer switches off entirely at low AGE; DRIFT at 0 remains the escape hatch for locked bass.
• SPREAD works on single-voice patches, where it previously did nothing.
• The notch is audible — raising resonance used to narrow it until it vanished.
• Filter sweeps feel more dramatic — level moves naturally across the morph instead of being flattened.
• Cleaner low end from improved DC handling.

Interface

• Full alignment and spacing pass across every panel.
• Arpeggiator header regrouped, proper master on/off, pattern display, RATE/DIV swapping on sync.
• Redesigned keyboard; shaper reorganised so routing comes first.
• WIDTH becomes self-sync on non-pulse waves — a whole timbre family from saw, triangle and sine.
• Restyled dropdown menus.

Fixed

• Broadband static with AGE and jitter up.
• Arp steps could be displaced far enough to play over each other.
• Shaper controls could become permanently unusable.
• Shaper appeared active on patches where nothing was routed.
• Presets using the shaper could lose their routing.

The biggest update yet: a much deeper arpeggiator, preset import, 17 new presets, and the move to the permanent OA Labs identity.

Upgrading from an earlier build: Phosphor-1 now uses OA Labs plugin IDs. Because the plugin’s unique IDs changed, an instance saved in an older project won’t re-link on its own. Reinsert Phosphor-1 and reload your preset. Your presets are kept, including any stored in the previous folder.

• Arpeggiator: new Trig Phase (Elektron-style A:B step firing) with a PHASE control, per-step octave motion, and a per-step glitch (jump, stutter, skip).
• Arpeggiator: groove preview shows a groove’s real per-step timing; pick Custom to unlock the lane and refine from that template instead of starting blank.
• Arpeggiator: Hold / Latch.
• Preset browser: drag in .xml presets to import, rescan from disk, and reveal a preset in your file browser.
• 17 new factory presets across Arp, Keys, Lead, Pad and FX.
• MIDI Learn is back (it was pulled in 1.0.1).
• Safer step editing: a first click only selects a step; click it again and drag to edit, so inspecting a step never changes it.
• Seven Keys presets widened to three unison voices for a fuller sound.
• Refreshed inspector layout and in-app help.
• Fixed a click when a mono or legato voice is reused (note-start de-click).

Snappier note response.

• Fast and repeated notes, especially mono basses and leads, now attack more immediately, while staying free of the note-start click addressed in 1.0.2.

Critical compatibility fix. A build setting caused Phosphor-1 to require the newest macOS, so on older systems, including all Intel Macs, it appeared in your host but wouldn’t open (“could not be opened”). It now runs on macOS 10.13 (High Sierra) and later, Intel and Apple Silicon. If Phosphor-1 wouldn’t open for you before, please reinstall with this version.

• Fixed: the loaded preset name now persists after closing/reopening the plugin or reloading your project.

• Fixed a click/pop at the start of notes on Mono and Legato sounds, most noticeable on bass and arpeggiator patches.
• MIDI Learn temporarily removed while we finish testing it; it’ll return, fully tested, in an upcoming update.
